For the past 24 years Simon and Mariese have developed this 8½ acre site as a collectors’ garden in a park-like setting. A canopy of massive indigenous eucalypts provides broken shade to plantings of a vast array of deciduous trees and shrubs as well as many rare and unusual conifers, rhododendrons and camellias. Beds of roses and long, mixed borders surround the house and a landscaped dam occupies the lowest part of the garden. However it is the collection of maples, many of which have been grown from seed by the owners, which dominates this glorious autumn display.
